  1.  @billyvonderburg7351  Because the parts industry is HUGE! Buy a guitar or a guitar kit and you are benefiting from bulk purchases from the manufacturer by the retailer. However, when Mr "I need this particular part" comes along, there is a mark-up because they are buying one item. That's why it's more expensive to buy things piece by piece.
