These types of issues with older vehicles are the reason I rebuilt my front end and rear (NO lift kit). I have an '05 Ford Courier crewcab RWD high lift V6. I bought it cheap and expected a few issues. The worst of everything was the drivers side (passenger for you folk) upper control arm. It was flopping about because the bushes had flogged out. All the ball joints were about buggered, as were the shocks. Now that I've nearly finished rebuilding it I know that it will be safe for long runs. I won't lift it. It already sits high enough and being only 5'7" I don't want to have to buy a step ladder to get into it.
