  1. This was pretty cool. So much complexity in simplicity. Learning an Australian First nation dialect, kuku yalanji, is something I am striving for. It's the language of the place my heart calls home. I know a little, but I want to learn proper language. Yalanji country borders the gugu yimmithr lands where Captain Cook beached his ship when he holed it on the Great Barrier Reef in 1770. The word 'Kangaroo' comes from the gugu yimmithr language when the locals helped the inadvertent tourists to learn the animal's names. There are four dialects in that FNQ area. Kuku Yalanji is almost musical in its tones and spoken rhythm.
