I have had times when I didn't have my morning coffee or any other caffeine for the day. Now, normally I don't get headaches. Paracetamol is not in my first aid kit. I just don't get them. However, on those rare occasions when I didn't have caffeine, I'd get a headache in the afternoon. The first time it happened I got a bit worried. "Do I have a tumor? Did I inhale some toxic chemical?" Then I remembered that I hadn't had coffee and had heard about headaches as part of withdrawal symptoms of caffeine. So, I had a coffee. Headache went away. Now I know that if I get a headache in the arvo or evening, I've not had my caffeine hits for the day.
