As an ex truckie/trucker, your best tyres/tires ALWAYS go on the steer/front. G'day from Australia. Flashback to 1979. Driving down a winding dirt mountain range. The left rear tyre of my 1967 Holden blew on a right hand bend. The rear kicked out to the left, but I could correct it because I still had two good front steer tyres. I backed off, corrected the drift, and got the car pointed in the right direction.

22:00 Easiest way to fix a check engine light issue is to remove the bulb from behind the cluster.

I'm 60 years old. When I was a young teen, my father, a mechanic and diesel fitter, bought me an old junker XP Falcon (early 60s). He said to me, "Before you work on the motor or interior, make sure you get new tyres (tires), brakes, and sort out the suspension. That'll keep you alive longer." I've rebuilt a few cars since then and always started with those steps.

@danw1955 Modelled, as in, calculated the angles and speed required, and then visualised with crude wire frame modelling. The ramps etc were then constructed based on the computer simulation results. Contrary to popular opinion, computers weren't primitive in the 70s. For example, I worked in seismic oil search in the 70s, and the Texas Instruments computers we were using converted seismic vibrations into models of rock strata underground to give a fairly accurate indication of where oil may be located, saving the cost of drilling countless test holes.

Fun fact: The barrel role in 'The Man With The Golden Gun' was the first movie stunt ever to be modelled on a computer before construction and implementation of the gag.

I used three layers of 2 Oz fibreglass to repair the floorpans on a 1971 Kombi. Ended up being the strongest part of the vehicle.

22:23 I used aluminium flyscreen mesh to melt into the plastic when I had to repair quad bike. It makes for a very strong bond.

26:00 Nah, that's a transformer that had a software bug.

@DonovanBanks Ever tried to go around a corner on a wet road with bald front tyres? You might rethink that thought.

@steve5772 Bwahaha! True!

8:20 Buy some fish emulsion rust protector and spray the shit out of the underbody. Let that sit for two weeks before considering any maintenance hosing of the underbody. From experience, fish oil rust spray is the duck's nuts. But a warning. It will stink for a few weeks.

4:35 Wait...what? Rear view mirrors have power plugs!? What strange magik is this? I guess I've never owned a vehicle with modern teckernology before.

10:38 Did you folks in the US have (I think) it was Armaglaze for the paint, and some underbody spray that was promoted as an aftermarket rust protection thing available from the dealer? Maybe it was called 'Endrust'? It was a big thing in the 90s in Australia.

@turbobear9404 mmmm. Methinks your experience may not be as extensive as you think.

@turbobear9404 Tyres don't recognise borders. Neither does physics.

@MarceloSC81 It also pays to have some minimal driving skills...

12:30 So the buyer didn't look under the car? Silly bugger. Oh hey, my HRSPRS t-shirt turned up. I'm a happy Donut fan.

3:08 One of my old bosses had a Holden Commodore with a factory 'Country Pack' fitted. Basically it's a lift kit for a Commodore. I was driving it up 'The Bloomfield Track' from Cairns to Cooktown one day and when I got back onto the bitumen the rear end felt sloppy as shit. Turns out the bushes on the panhard rod had finally flogged out. It had side sway very similar to that Camry until we replaced the bushes.

16:50 Garage 54. A brilliant YouTube channel out of (I think) Russia. The dialogue is translated and dubbed. They've made an engine with square pistons, wooden wheels, just anything you may have daydreamed about doing, they've done.
