@7six3 Not quite. In Far North Queensland, if there is only one way in and one way out of a community, and that community is 'dry', then no, usually you can't bring alcohol in your vehicle, even if you don't intend to drink it or take it out of the said vehicle. However, if you travel through a community that can be driven through to a destination that is not under the dry rules, you can take your alcohol through. You must be a bona fide person passing through, you can't stop, and the alcohol must be hidden from outside view.

@wot4922 Settle petal. You're making some grand assumptions about people there. And mate, people drink for a lot of reasons and some people can't control their consumption. It's the same in any country and within any community that has alcohol in its modern culture. I've lived and worked in aboriginal communities in the Far North and generally there are two types of racists. Those that say, "Go back to the bush where you came from..." and those that say, "stop picking on the poor aboriginals. It's not their fault...". Guess which one is despised more in community? I would discuss more of your points but you know, I've had similar discussions with hundreds of people from all walks of life, and I'm just tired of it. I know how I feel about stolen family, stolen land, frontier-led massacres, and the continued disenfranchisement of many Traditional Owners. But I'm tired of repeating myself, as are many. Change is coming. People are patient. I come from Yalanji country if you're curious. Kuku Yalanji. My given name (and personal totem animal) is Gnawia (Sea Turtle).

@stevenbalekic5683 Not sure what your point is, but, okay...

@wot4922 I understand. However, the media does like a meaty story, so they'll focus their attention on the worst off. Small communities are like big suburbs. There are the houseproud people and there a those that don't really care. Sadly, there are also places where government housing is just not maintained by those responsible, so people get demoralised when they can't get running water issues fixed. It can be 12 months before a government-contracted plumber turns up. Anyway, I am going to sneak away and edit some more python in my home videos :)

@MELODYMUNRO Why's that, Melody?

Queensland mobile phone use laws and fines: '$1,033 and four demerit points for illegal mobile phone use while driving (*having it in your lap is one example regarded as illegal use). Double demerit points apply for repeat offences committed within a 12-month period.' I agree. Using a mobile phone when driving is just plain suicidal, and you'll likely kill someone else one day if you keep doing it.
