The HAKA. Yep, frikking formidable. Absolutely awesome stuff. I'm Aussie, but Haka are just mesmerising and somewhat scary.

Aotearoa, New Zealand is the one place I'd migrate to if I had a mind to leave Australia. The history and culture and landscape just draws me in. Aotearoa never ceded to British rule. A treaty was signed, unlike Australia where the British basically tried to commit genocide on the Traditional Owners of this country.

@busterbell871n Ah, okay. But hey, I'm Aussie. I'm still learning :)

@crunchytheclown9694 Dad worked on mobile drill rigs when I was a young fella. We travelled from the SA deserts to the Whitsundays drilling water bores and doing core tests for coal etc. I'm QLD born but have travelled around. However, I've lived or worked throughout most of Queensland except the Granite Belt and Gold Coast areas. I consider my spiritual country up around Cooktown and the coastal areas south east of there. Kuku Yalanji and gugu yimmithrr country.

@crunchytheclown9694 Somewhat controversial for people who don't know the full history of White 'settlement' here. My studies and research involve specifically Queensland and our history in this State is pretty bad. May I suggest having a look at 'Conspiracy Of Silence' by Timothy Bottoms. His book should be required reading in schools. A very well-researched record of the true history of the European pioneers of Queensland. It's not pretty. Further, yes, I have spent a good part of my years in remote areas and communities. Interestingly, BLM and other matters rarely rate a mention in remote communities. It's more a case of "Where are the dialysis machines and advanced healthcare centres that we really need?" Sorry for the long-winded rant, but I needed to explain why I made that comment.

@busterbell871n Hehe, yeah, that's kinda funny. It blew me away when I learned that. I remember when I was growing up in the 70s (I'm 58), 'Kiwis' were like the little brother we took the piss out of, especially at the pub. Nowadays, most of us are jealous of your country.
