Green Tree snakes can vary in colour from green to black on their back, but their belly is generally some shade of yellow. They are sometimes called yellow bellied black snake, leading some people to think that they're venomous. However, these snakes are harmless. When they feel threatened, they flatten their necks in a similar way to cobras. I've handled these snakes often. I even had one that would come into my bus on a regular basis. They are way cool.
