  1. Velociraptors were/are actually a genus of species. Some were turkey size, while others were ostrich sized. They were also feathered. The ones depicted in Jurassic Park were based on a relative species. So yes, the cassowary probably came from that line. I've seen the odd one and a family up where I used to live. Awesome birds.
