  1. I still remember (and I was 10 years old at the time) when the Australian Government approved the purchase of Pollock's 'Blue Poles', or 'No11 1952' for the Australian National Gallery. The price was 2 million dollars, which was an insane price in 1973. Today it is estimated to be worth over 100 million dollars.
