  31. I completely respect your beliefs, but many people do die for what they believe in. That doesn't make what they believe in truth. So many people who don't share the same beliefs as you are persecuted, because your very religion tells you to persecute them. Once again, truly believing something doesn't make it real or truthful. Some are exactly the opposite. I lost my faith in God trying to prove he existed. Reading his books are nothing more than anecdotal evidence and dont provide any foundation that a God exists. It wasn't her stating her beliefs that irritated me. It was her backhanded assertion that I must live a sad life because I am an atheist. I do believe she was lying, but everyone lies. So that point is moot. No one just randomly decides to be religious. It is TAUGHT to them, and then they choose for themselves based on their own experiences. I don't think that most people who believe in God can crtically think, or they would step back to observe their views from an outside perspective, which I have never met a Christian who has done so. I am well aware that there are other opinions out there. I believe people who claim to know God are intellectually dishonest and are looking for a coping mechanism to deal with death. No records of any of his miracles have ever been confirmed by any legitimate sources. I'm sure Jesus existed as a person, but there is ZERO evidence for any of his supposed miracles. If for something to exist, it must have has a creator, then God must have had a creator. You claim he created himself or has always been. I could make the same claim for the universe. I shouldn't force you to abandon your faith anymore than you should insist I believe the way you do if I say I'm not interested. Atheism really isn't a left or right position. I know many Christian leftists and I know several Atheist conservatives. I'm just arguing for people to be able to believe what they want, whether that's a positive belief or a lack of a belief. I argue for people to see all sides. I argue for people to stop using the Bible as justification for harm. I am personally an atheist. I don't find any problem with people choosing to believe one way or the other. I just want people to see flaws in their logic, as well as point out my own. Learning in any way is positive. My issue with religion comes from when it is used in a way to hurt others. And I feel the same way with atheism.

Hell, In Deuteronomy 4:19 the Israelites are forbidden from worshipping “the sun, the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven . . . [which] Yahweh your god has allotted to all the peoples everywhere under heaven.” In other words, they were told not to worship other gods, not because those gods did not exist, but because they were supposed to rule other peoples, not Israel. The Bible straight up acknowledges other Gods. But these Gods were themselves created by Yaweh, which is why he should be worshipped.

Then you're still damned because you were worshipping the wrong deity. If there is a God, and he is all loving, then there is no hell. No loving being would punish someone for eternity for any crime. That being said, not all atheists believe in the big bang. Hope is "a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen". We can prove feelings exist through brain activity. You cannot see feelings and it comes from chemical reactions in the brain. I can belief in hope because it has been proven and demonstrated throughout history. I'm not exactly sure I believe in what you call "fate". I am open to the IDEA that a God COULD exist. I am not open to the STATEMENT that a God DOES exist. You are assuming that for something to exist it must have been created. Creation does not equal existence.

There is nothing wrong with admitting you don't know. This is why most atheists are agnostic. Just because I believe you to be delusional doesn't mean you are. You see evidence for a God. I do not. Atheists do not claim there is no God.

If you could show them evidence of a God, they would believe in one. They may call them evil (for instance, if the God of the Bible is true, then I personally consider that God to be evil), but they will believe. You cannot simultaneously not believe in God and believe in God. Agnosticism only applies to the knowledge of God. Anyone who is honest is agnostic. It tells me nothing about your beliefs. No one is born a Christian. You were born an atheist. You may have been raised in Christianity depending on your environment, but you were not born that way. If you chose not to believe in a supernatural being, you would be an atheist by default.

The earliest books were written 30 years after Jesus died. Please show me the evidence that proves Jesus was crucified and ressurected.

Just because its subjective doesn't mean there isn't right or wrong. I live by secularism, which strives for compassion of mankind. Therefore, murdering somone would be wrong in that worldview. It doesn't have to be objective for me or a society to find it wrong. I can't say its objectively wrong, because not all people share that viewpoint. Nothing in nature tells you murder is wrong. You believing it is wrong depends on the time period and environment you grow up in.
