@pedrosmith221 Tumors are also alive and have different DNA. Guess I can't have them removed either.
2
@pedrosmith221 I don't see humans as inherently valuable. Sorry. Nor am I making a comparison. Simply stating that the "its alive and has seperate DNA" is a dumb argument, because tumors meet that exact same criteria.
2
@DemonDrummer Thank you. The backwards illogical thinking of some people.
2
As if people don't also ignore the right to liberty? And ignore that unborn fetuses do not have rights, because they are not persons?
2
@Zeroneii3 But if you crash into someone else, no one requires you to donate blood and organs to keep them alive. Should we start forcing that?
2
Science says "depends on what stage of pregnancy it's in" because science defines personhood when clear sentience is achieved, far after most abortions are performed.

@ianalvord3903 We aren't a democracy. We're a representative republic.

Abortion wasn't murder up until this point, because it wasn't unlawful.
1
@Zeroneii3 Strawmanning at its finest. Fetuses aren't people.
1
@Nanofuture87 A consitutional amendment was never on the table because no way would 2/3 of states support abortion.
1
@Compucles Hey, I'm dying of PKD. You should be forced to donate your kidney. My life is more important.
1
@Zeroneii3 They don't decide to get pregnant. That process happens seperately from the brain. Should you not recieve medical attention because you got into a car accident knowing full well the risks of driving?
1
Ridiculous arguments. You aren't using another person's body just by existing.
1
If the right to life trumps the right to liberty, then are you pro forced blood and organ donations?
1
@Zeroneii3 That is absolute horse shit. Sentience, or consciousness, is the ability to think and feel subjectively. Just because a 5 month old can't verbalize it's consciousness doesn't mean it's not sentient. You have this ability around 15 weeks gestation, far after the point of most abortions.

But that is exactly what you're doing. You are twisting the amendment (not to mention the foundational "right to liberty") in order to spin your own narrative. The "right to abortion" simply wasn't explicit. But to say it wasn't there at all is just nonsense. First off, no one "kills a baby" during an abortion. The dishonesty at this point is ridiculous. "Baby" means post-utero. It is literally a fetus until the moment of birth. Secondly, some states no longer allow you to get Plan B without a prescription from a doctor. I know mine doesn't. Now those people are stuck. Also, plan B fails as well. Many rights you currently have are not explicit in the Constitution. Does that mean you don't have them anymore? Again, being dishonest. A fetus is not a someone. A fetus is not a person. Sure, its a human. But not a person. "Avoid getting pregnant as a result of rape?" You don't choose that. You don't choose whether or not your body gets pregnant. And how about women who are now jailed for miscarriages? Who will die because of ectopic pregnancies eclampsia and other medical conditions? There is no end to the stupidity of pro-lifers, and I sincerely hope you teach your daughter properly about sexual health.

@activemanishere No, I didn't say a fetus isn't life. It certainly is. Being life is not disputed among anyone with any biology experience. The "right" to an abortion was what was disputed. There are plenty of solid arguements that abortion is protected under several already established amendments. You aren't pro "heeding the Constitution" because you give no bearing to the idea that you may be wrong. Yes they will. In fact, there are articles about women who were not believed about being raped, doctors refusing rape kits etc. As someone who has had an abortion, I can assure you. I do not carry scars about it. I recognize it waa something that needed to be done. No. You aren't. Several states have outright made abortion illegal. More states have made laws making it a crime to travel and get abortions. Not everyone has the money to move. If you really believe that, you should hold that opinion to all other laws like that.
1
@Nanofuture87 That's not even remotely true and you completely ignore the fact that you can petion a court to severe your parental rights at any time. You owe child support because you get tax benefits from having a dependant.
