You've got to try really hard to get run over by accident. You usually only hear about it happening at night or involving drugs or alcohol or it's a deliberate hit and run case or the person hit is a young child. How does a young adult with his family get hit by a car in broad daylight?!

@JustJoe827 Next to unheard of in the UK. But we'd walk on the road facing oncoming traffic so we can see cars approach and act accordingly. It does however happen too often when the pedestrian or driver are drunk, or at night.
