  1. The Equality Act 2010 protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society. Romany Gypsies, Scottish Travellers and Irish Travellers have been declared by the courts to be protected as “races” under the Act. - I stand corrected..

  2. It's a bit of a stretch to call travellers a "race". They are a culture rather than an ethnic group. The traveller community consists of Welsh, Scottish, Irish etc.
