And yet crime figures show a constant decrease.

They repeat the crime because there's a demand for cheaper goods. Stricter punishment doesn't deter crime. Otherwise crime would have vanished with the death penalty. Poverty creates crime.

@richardmullens4707 And yet people still stole food 🤷♂ Death isn't a deterrent if not committing the crime causes death.

@allykhan8594 Really?! Not all poor people are thieves, but all thieves are poor.
2
More migrant hate. Ridiculous!
2
@richardmullens4707 Of course they are. Or certainly were. Anyone qualified to earn an honest living does just that. Those that aren't and have zero morals and are damaged in some way, commit crimes.

@richardmullens4707 And do you think these people in the video you're commenting on are a) IT specialists in highly paid jobs, or b) uneducated poor people. Filling the demand from other poor people.?
1
@CharlesOnikosi-ql5sb I think we'll see an upsurge in crime in the next few years as kids now have nothing to do in certain areas. Probably Labour councils. The tories have deliberately underfunded these areas. That's the real crime.

@richardmullens4707 That wasn't even a response to you!!! That was in the context of another person claiming he was poor and didn't commit crime, as if that was a rebuttal to me saying that poverty creates crime. You don't have to point out that in SOME cases rich people commit crime. Everybody knows this, captain obvious. It was as you say, a sweeping statement!

@richardmullens4707 When did I say I didn't mean it?
1
@richardmullens4707 Not to you I didn't. But of course there are exceptions to the rule. A VAST majority of crimes related to making money are committed by poor people.

@dumadani6966 I've worked with ex offenders teaching them bench joinery and I'd humbly disagree with you. Some people however are just about that life. Get them on their own and it's a different story.

@dumadani6966 It's insignificant to you. To the ones that can be led down a brighter path, it is incredibly significant. Life changing. The number of people passing through the prison system that reoffend is significant. The number of people that spend that time doing a course or program of rehabilitation, and then go on to reoffend is significantly lower. In my experience, I'd say the underlying cause of the anti-social behaviour, is a lack of confidence. This makes some folk lash out and act up as they gain "status" within their group of peers. A lot of the lads I teach immediately claim they can't do what you show them. They've been told all their lives they can't do anything. Many abused at home. Showing them they have value is a key to rehabilitation. in my opinion. I wish you could come down the work shop and see the change in people from day 1 to just the end of the week. The issue is funding, and people have to reoffend in the first place to access rehabilitation service. It should be standard.

@anaruizguti Just because dumb people say things like this in the comments section, it doesn't make it true..
1
That has to be the dumbest way for an "organised" criminal network to make money!!! How stupid does channel 4 think we are.. Scratch that. We voted to leave our own continent and we blame migrants for everything and we want to stop other people helping those fleeing warzones.. Yep, we're thick as owt. 😂😂

@HarryFlowerrs So?
1
What nonsense! More migrant hate! Every shoplifter is a British drug addict. Or a British criminal. There's no people flying over to Britain to steal tobacco and then fly back to wherever!! What a stupid suggestion!!
