There's no racism involved for the majority. It's just a disappointment. You're looking forward to and anticipating a certain character you may have read in a novel eg. It's the same as if a Zulu movie had white women as their leaders. It lacks immersion and has nothing to do with the story. Keep racism out of entertainment.

@twistedQC i don't need white people to be in a program to "feel represented" because I'm not racist. I don't need men to be in a program to "feel represented" because I'm not a misogynist. And yes I'd be disappointed if superman was now blonde just to make blonde people "feel included". And i was disappointed "Jack Reacher" was originally cast as Tom Cruise, the short ass. At least that has been rectified.

@twistedQC i read "The dark tower" books by Stephen King. I followed the adventures of the gunslinger and his friends for 6 novels. The gunslinger is clearly described as being clint eastwood as that was the intention of Stephen King as a fan of the spahhetti western genre. I constantly thought, whilst reading, that this needs to be made into a movie. I was imagining which great actors they could get to portray the scrawny cowboy described in the novels. It was very disappointing to see the casting decision for Idris Elba. Not because he was black, which was obviously weird, but because he couldn't deliver the cowboy gun slinger role. He was clearly chosen for his race as so many other actors such as Robert Carlisle would have been way better for the role. Explain why that casting decision wasn't based on race ie racist.

@twistedQC Vikings Valhalla. The tv series. As seen as you're so keen on statistics. Although there may have been African viking warriors as the vikings did enter Africa. There is zero historical evidence for any African jarls. And there has NEVER been an African woman that has been a jarl. So why cast jarl Ericsson as a black woman? Pandering to racists that can't handle white people? Or mysandrists that can't handle watching men? Please explain this casting decision without sounding like a racist.

@twistedQC i realise you're not meaning to be a racist. And if you're black you probably believe it isn't even possible 🙄 but casting a black person so black people can watch it is racist and discriminates based on race. And if you can't watch something because it has no black people in it then you are a racist.

@twistedQC how racist is it to look at the marval universe or dc comics and count the black ones 🤔
1
@twistedQC how absurd to look at the percentage of black people in a country and say if EVERY movie/tv series, no matter the context, doesn't reflect that then its racist?! So you want a zulu movie to have white women in it then? Because there's white people in Africa?

I'd also like to point out that white people have never said they felt un represented because there weren't any white people in something. That would be racist.. The only race that doesn't feel included unless there are their race involved is black people. Particularly those in America. I wouldn't watch a series based in Africa and complain because there's not enough white people in it. That would be racist. In the UK we have massively diverse dramas. "Top boy" for example is about black gangs in the UK. I don't need white people to be in that to watch it! It isn't realistic and I'm not "offended" by seeing black people. It's a top drama.
