  2. Red herring. gdp s based on a Lot of input measures/metrics that are judgemental. It s not something Set in stone. For Big economies there s a Lot of room for differing methodologies. What the developed world has always done IS simply to say "we dont accept the Chinese methodology" (which has also been evolving through practice and experience). But unless the disagreement IS leading to material differences in predictions and policies and economic outcomes, then it s merely a matter of taste and academic snobbery. Fact is no one has demonstrated they know the Chinese economy better than the Chinese. So all These debates are just noise and essentially egotistic exercises in maintaining the delusion that we, the existing developed world, Stil know better. We dont. When it comes to China.
