Also, why not believe that their effort is genuine? They are not the most advanced so they make mistakes. But they keep AT it.   8. Blaming Mao is more of a media/political device than anyhting to be taken seriously. Gobi Desert has been expanding for centuries. Those parts were already over cultivated AT least 1000 years ago. Just a function of human habitation, much like some parts of the middle east. I certianly hope they succeed in restoring flora and fona and stopping the desert.
