I'm with the tradwives. My wife and I have lived this way for 17 years now (14 with a son) and we're both very glad we did. Some conservatives don't embrace it or think it's fake because it doesn't match up with what they've personally experienced, which is sad, but I can understand.

Or, you get just one side of the story and believe it because it helps you get rich. Meanwhile, traditional husbands believe it's their role to provide and protect, not to live hedonistically. That's actually a very modern mindset.
2
So just to be clear, men who are attracted to tradwives are wrong and they should... change their sexual preferences?
2
How silly. Submitting doesn't make you a slave. Do you submit to your boss?

I agree with Matt. If only to make sure parents are raising their children instead of the government or some minimum wage daycare worker, it makes sense for the mom to be at home as much as possible. Also good advice for young women (if you actually care about them) to maintain their femininity (to maximize their odds of pair bonding with the type of guy they're likely to want), and the workforce has a way of masculinizing you over time. That's not to speak of fertility issues which can be caused by increased cortisol from all the stress of a demanding job and/or college curriculum. Even if you start trying for a family before you "hit the wall", that can still diminish your chances.
2
Lectures aside, most men are going to want more feminine women, just like most women prefer masculine men. And complaining about it isn't going to help the feminists anymore than it helps the incels.

@JellyPop3000 Quite simply, the workplace has a way of masculinizing you. You often have to become more assertive if not aggressive, less sensitive, more callous, etc. to be successful in that world. Plus, a job that adds stress can fuck with your cortisol level, which in turn fucks with your fertility. So even if you don't wait too long and end up "hitting the wall" before trying to start a family, you can still find it difficult.
2
@ You think most men prefer masculine women then? I really don't think my statement is that controversial. Even Megyn seemed to agree with the premise that men preferring them to be more feminine is very common; she just seemed to think they shouldn't.
2
@DeMeta-b6d "with both masculine and feminine qualities", sure. But most men would probably prefer a woman with more feminine than masculine qualities, right?
2
"It was if you were rich." I don't buy this. My wife and I have a traditional marriage and we're far from rich. But supposing that point were true - that only the rich people were doing it, sounds to me like it was an ideal people were striving for. Once they were able to set their family up that way, they did so. I wonder why that is?
2
Exactly. Besides, everyone's either male or female, even so-called "intersex" people.
1
@ What are you even calling "hedonistic"? Because I described the traditional view that it's the man's role to provide and protect as a counterexample to that.
1
Yep. But they have to pretend sex is a spectrum; otherwise, the absurdity of modern gender theory would be even more obvious.
1
Which people?
1
Isn't it the case that men just do rule over women? I mean, even from a liberal/feminist point of view, I thought the contention was that women are being oppressed by men... The traditionalists simply maintain that men should believe "It's my role to protect and provide for my wife" instead of, Idk, "Every man and woman for themselves" or whatever you believe.
1
Some women care, others don't. It's almost like they're human beings with different beliefs or something...

@DeMeta-b6d "Lol anecdotes mean nothing" I wasn't using it to prove a claim; I was explaining to you why I don't believe the claims made in the original commenter. I've personally done what they're saying is impossible to do... "the christian larp nuclear family model was a creation of the 50s" Even granting this, so what? "and only afforded to those of a privileged upper middle class." Again, this is a claim you two have yet to back up, and you don't seem to realize what it suggests even if it's true. Read the second part of my reply again. "Most of history in hunter gatherer and agrarian societies both parents were working while the elderly looked after the children." Yes, indeed. Women couldn't always make the best use of their natural ability as nurturers. When they had to do more physically demanding labor, then that's what they did. But once they no longer had to, with the advent of technology and appliances to help them at home, they chose this instead. But what's your point? That because they didn't always do x then they shouldn't have done x in the 50s and now?
