Transgenderism remains a wholly incoherent worldview. One in which people confuse gender itself with gender roles and norms (or appeal to circular logic). One in which they insist others are incorrect in using terms like "man" or "woman" while being unable to provide objective, workable definitions for these terms themselves. And one in which they often equate disagreement with hate, which is not only illogical but dangerous.

@gigameter I explained very clearly how it's a worldview (which beliefs it entails), and followed that up in my last comment by citing what I believe to be the central belief of it. So far, you haven't addressed the original points made in the first comment. "How are sex and gender not separate things in your mind?" Sex and gender are one and the same, which is why the roles we're expected to play based on our biological sex are called "gender roles". Moreover, modern gender theory (e.g., transgenderism) has consistently failed to give any objective, workable definitions for "gender" to establish it as something different from sex. "If sex and gender were the same thing, why are gender roles so different when comparing different species that have the same sexual roles?" Gender roles being different between species doesn't do anything to suggest that gender itself is different from sex. I'm not denying the existence of gender roles and norms, or variance in them from one species to another, one culture to another, etc.; I'm saying that to equate them with gender itself is a mistake. "If gender and sex are the same, shouldn’t gender roles and sexual roles be exactly the same for every species that has males and females?" No, because gender roles and norms are socially constructed. But that doesn't mean gender is socially constructed.

@gigameter I elaborated on why transgenderism is incoherent in the original post, and what sorts of beliefs it entails. But probably the fundamental belief would be that gender and sex are two different things when that view doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

We do already have a term for that, and that term is "gender roles". These are roles expected of people based on their gender (biological sex). Change is one thing; change just for the sake of it is another. And the reason equating gender itself with gender roles and norms isn't workable is that if someone were to adhere to the socially constructed roles and norms expected of men yet identify as a woman, you'd still call them a woman. Worldviews are collections of beliefs; I gave a few in my original comment and highlighted this belief as probably the fundamental one. "Why do you use the term transgenderism when you're talking about gender theory? I don't see how they're related, nor why the word transgender has been ism-afied." Because it is a collection of beliefs, and I refer to transgenderism as a child born out of modern gender theory. "I highly doubt that's how most trans people view being transgender." Agreed. But in the same way, a Christian might tell you "Christianity isn't a religion; it's a relationship with God". Sometimes people believe so strongly in something that they reject the very idea that they're believing in it (right or wrong).

But it's also unworkable. Because if someone were to exhibit the behavioral, cultural and psychological traits typically associated with males while identifying as a woman, most people who subscribe to modern gender theory would call them a woman. Else that person would be wrong about their own gender... "Your suggestion that we should not have a word to describe what gender is-" Is not what I suggested. Indeed, I pointed out that we already have terms for what you call "gender", and that's "gender roles" or "gender norms". These are roles and norms expected of people based on their gender, aka biological sex.
