As an atheist (not that I believe "there is no god" but that I do not believe in any gods), I will say your transition from Christianity was less than logical. There will always be inconsistent people in any group, and I don't think that alone should make anyone doubt what they believe in. And I also think all of the arguments against Christianity or theism have failed. All that being said, it's my opinion that the most logical reason to stop believing/not believe in a god is simply that you've been given no good reason to believe. This means no religious arguments, no religious experiences, nothing. I don't believe. Why? Because I've never experienced god despite trying. To me it's that simple.

Styx's reaction to seeing Christians be hypocrites isn't uncommon. But it wasn't logical either. It reminds me of the story of the drunk wife-beater with two sons. One son grew up to be just like his father. When asked, "Why are you that way?" he answered, "Because I watched my dad get drunk every night and beat up my mom." The other son grew up to be responsible and kind to his wife. And when he was asked why he was that way, he answered, "Because I watched my dad get drunk every night and beat up my mom." How you interpret what you see is what matters.

@frost1183 But I was able to give reasons for my opinion...

@DS-ld8ns Are you assuming that they don't think for themselves, just because they're Christian?
