  1. 50:14 It's also because these men are turning to pornography as a substitute for a real relationship, and part of the fantasy is that the woman on screen really sincerely wants to be with them. Both men and women are trying to at least feel like they're meeting their needs, whether that's financial independence or a loving relationship, but OF and the like are not actually accomplishing that. Sadly, I don't think men and women are being raised to know that they can do better in life (which requires more than the occasional adult telling them that word for word).

  2. It sounds like her concept of "trans people" is really just men who don't want to conform to gender roles and norms expected of men. But the problem is in calling them "girls" or "women" as a result of that. They are still men, and as her example demonstrates even that early version of "transgirl" was expected to conform to at least some of the norms expected of men at the time. Again, I think the issue isn't the traditional gender roles and norms themselves but people not being raised to know that they can conform to them (e.g., boys not thinking they can be strong or brave when it's needed, girls not thinking they can be pretty or a nurturing mother).
