  1. I think the low camera angle makes people look taller. The large hispanic population in the US probably brings the average height down in some areas, but then you have African Americans who are often very tall.

  2. Its all a meat market when it comes down to it. Unless you have high end aesthetics you wouldn't enjoy this scene much and find it very boring.
