  1. I've driven the Stuart Highway from the south coast all the way to Darwin and back when there was no speed limit in NT, which was back in 1999. I managed to get my old 1984 Mazda 626 4 cylinder up to 170km/h (106 mph) but it wasn't smooth nor safe. Between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek it felt comfortable at 150km/h (in that car). I know others who've been up there in Commodores and cruising at 200km/h no problem.
