  1. you shouldn't be worshipping any people. you can respect them and listen/heed their words. but worship is too far, and frankly could lead to a dangerous place.

  2. yes, many places of china. and the air... just imagine your kid growing up with trash all around, having to wear a mask just to breathe, and never seeing the stars. that's the reality for millions and it's heartbreaking. I went to Vietnam rather recently, and some of main rivers all just filled with dead fish floating on the surface of the water and trash lining the shores. even china is outsourcing to Vietnam now, and the pollution is atrocious. I don't even want to visit India. Most westerners have not seen this kind of thing in real life, so they just pick one thing or the other to believe and go about their life. it's funny, once people have any sort of creature comfort, they're do everything to hold on to it. hypothetically, if turning off AC could save your planet, people wouldn't do it. Mr. Moore was saying 'the world won't end, they always say that and it's never ended' but then he acknowledges there have been 5 major extinctions... most people don't think the world will just blow up or turn into a ball of fire. it's about maintaining a hospitable environment. and let's say there is no danger of extinction... wouldn't you still want to leave the nicest place you could for your grandkids, future generations?

  3. He brought up chernobyl a few times, but seems to have forgotten about fukushima. nuclear is by far the most efficient source of power we have access to. however it comes with great responsibility, and is not immune to human error or other unforseen issues.

  5. CO2 is kind of poisonous... for humans. obviously not for plants. i thought the argument was that the 'greenhouse gasses' (also the name seems imply that plants would thrive) are contributing to a more rapid warming?
