it's Japanese car makers in general. Toyota, Nissan, Suzuki, etc... none of them are embracing the future. which is weird because Nissan was one of the first with the Leaf, and of course Toyota did very well with the Prius. But they simply don't want to shake up their domestic market, and somehow think they're keep coasting along into the future.

if it had decent range... at least 250+ miles, I'd definitely buy one. I'm in Japan right now and Honda has some very similar looking gasoline cars. but of course you can't get those in the usa either.

Yes. The way he is presenting the numbers is not good. If you have the numbers all in front of you you can follow along, but his small text and jumping around (in addition to going back and forth between standard and metric) is messy. I like this channel, but this not the way to present numbers or comparisons.

Obviously electric car should be cheaper in China. I went to China rather recently and saw far more EVs driving around than I see in the USA. Most Americans can't afford an EV. Neither can the vast, vast majority of Chinese. It likely only seemed like a lot because I was in a wealthy mega-city and pay attention to cars when I'm out and about. In reality, per capita EV must be lower than the US. But I still wonder how all these Chinese can afford 40/50k+ EVs.

What happens in 2040? End of the world finally?

If the e-transit got more than 50 mi. Range I might consider it. The only decent thing ford has done in many many years is the new Bronco.

One the lamestream fake news found out that Elon Musk isn't a whackjob leftists, they started trashing EVs.

I’m with you. I have a canoo pre#order. Van for me. I’ll either be getting that or the vw buzz. I’d rather have the canoo, but the VW wil actually come to market.
1
I laughed! but, also practical for carrying water.

Ioniq 5, Hyundai's single good looking vehicle. The Korean car makers have zero design language consistency, and in general make as ugly vehicles as everyone else.

@jtt3346 ah yes, the brainless anti-Musk MSM sheep are out in droves. Turn off the msnbc and cnn kiddo.
1
It’s simply because those in power are pushing the Hate Musk narrative, and simpletons are sheeping along like they always do. Musk wouldn’t bow to the nonsense woke and WEF/NWO agenda, so they’re trying to bury him. Just like they tried with Trump. Thats why all the negative Tesla stuff, from the very people who just a few short years ago said EVs will save the planet. And it’s why all the big advertising are being pressured to leave twitter, once it stopped being a propaganda arm of the corrupt govt. it’s clear as day what’s been happening.

though I wouldn't want to lease a battery... like phones and everything else, they should definitely design them so that the battery is easily replaceable. unfortunately everything is going in the opposite direction, because more profit that way. :/

yep, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Suzuki, Daihatsu, etc they are all dropping the ball.

Everything, except off-roading or moving very tall objects. Minivans are much more practical than sedans and suvs.

@wosamosman9814 yes the Delica is awesome. but has never been sold in the USA. I have a 4wd Toyota townace, imported from Japan, as they were also never sold in the USA
1
except the driver sits so far back that sight lines will be terrible when off-roading. that's my biggest gripe.
1
@theverdictisstillout not sure. Maybe it's just an illusion because of the design. to me it looks like the front and windshield have been a bit more upright angled, and allow the driver to sit closer to the front. I wonder if there are measurements out there, from front end to steering wheel or front seat, and we could compare cybertruck to others.
1
@theverdictisstillout i pre-ordered pretty early, but I doubt I'd be receiving one anytime soon! and we'll have to see if the price increased considerably :/

People keep paying $80k for $30k trucks ... so there is no incentive for usa automates to change. We need nationwide boycotts of the garbage we're being sold at ridiculous over inflated prices. But... People keep buying. I don't understand it.
1
@nftvariants I'm sure there are some, but I haven't seen a single one in person over here. I have seen American muscle cars though! haha
1
Not really. Every company from the USA outsourced their labor solely to pad the pockets of a select few higher ups and investors. They could do just fine staying in the US. But they don't want to do fine, they want to be filthy rich and throw their countrymen under the bus.

The electric airplane is a funny thing... We already know how much winter temps drop range..... And 10k or 30k ft in the air is a heck of a lot colder! I don't know which would drop faster, the range or the plane?
