@quickmike420 he is right though. it's easy to compare society where people adhere to traditions vs those that just make shit up willy nilly.

@ukbleedbluex9340 that's because "live and let live" doesn't work in reality. not unless you want to go be a hermit. you live in society, and these issues have massive consequences on almost everybody.

@mikemulligan5510 every legal institution is built on belief. do you believe murder is wrong? stealing? etc etc.... some people don't. but our entire legal system addresses these very issues.

I'm disappointed in Joe. As a father, he should know that while "following your pursuits and your dreams and interest..." may be somewhat fulfilling, it's not even in the same realm as the fulfilment that comes from literally raising your future, humanity's future. also, his not seeing how gay marriage damages straight marriage is a bit silly. he makes a good point about divorce of course. but both degrade the fabric of society, and have countless reprocusions down the line.
