@sachastassen6019 Same for Korea, many Koreans under Japanese rule actually liked it, but after Korea became independent in 1945 it became the common narrative in both Mainland Korea (North Korea) and Silla (South Korea) to denounce Japanese occupation. Taiwan was treated the same as Korea, but in Taiwan there seems to be a love, while in Japan there is only hatred.

The K.M.T. came to Taiwan in 1945, this video covers the period before the Communist bandits took the Mainland.

@Asianometry Yeah, but the actual aboriginal population still inhabits Taiwan and no group resists "native Taiwanese" people more than the actual natives, in fact most aboriginal areas tend to be Chinese Nationalist strongholds. Similar to how many Native Americans supported the Crown during the American revolution, or how the Incan nobility supported the Spanish during the Peruvian revolution. If a new group arrives that calls itself "native" then one of the first things they will do is eradicate cultures before them, continued Chinese (K.M.T.) rule would actually ensure their autonomy, while Taiwanese independence will sacrifice the Austronesian cultures and Hakka-Chinese cultures for "Taiwanese culture" (basically only Hokkien, which is still a Chinese province they hail from).
