  4. The issue with nuclear power is that we should have been building them during the 1970's, France did and 75% of their energy is nuclear. Everywhere else people protested against them.

Big Oil supports them, the Soviet Union supports them to keep them dependent on Soviet gas, and Neo-Marxists don't want us to be energy independent as that creates a lock-in technology (note James Lindsay's works on this). There are many interest groups that want to stop nuclear power.

The European Union is a way to bypass democratic institutions through international treaties (treaty washing), those U.S.A. basically rejected N.A.F.T A. (the North American version of the E.U.), democracy can be subverted through international agreements and treaties. N.A.F.T.A. didn't create a super-governmental body like the E.U., the moment such a body would be created the U.S. American government would become impotent.
