  1. This is intellectual property laws at work, if they didn't have a monopoly they wouldn't have been able to enforce such strict laws. Joe Biden was willing to wave some copyrights to help poor countries, but the European Union lobbied against it stating that "Copyright is too important" (yes, more important than the lives of its own citizens). Every pro-copyright government that signed this is at fault here, they created the environment that allowed companies to have minimum liabilities.
