I wouldn't see it like that, we don't "live on" in others memories, once we die we are no longer capable of perceiving anything or even remembering who we were, so all glory in life and things we have accumulated mean nothing to us after death, this includes memories of us. Napoleon is equally dead as Jonathan Doe from Farplaceshire.
