Meanwhile your grand-daughters will probably claim that she was an even greater warrior than any man around her.

Very informative video, though it does spread some misinformation, most particularly you refer to the Viking Age Scandinavian civilisation as "Vikings", but it's perhaps better to refer to Scandinavians as "Norsemen" as Vikings only made up a very small minority of them. It's like referring to all Late Medieval Europeans as "Conquistadors", despite only a handful of Europeans (mostly Castilians) did this.

03:40 There was nó "Spanish Crown" then, he did it for the Castilian Crown, Spain wasn't a country at the time.
1
02:11 Plus the Eastern Roman Empire used the Julian calendar.
1
This is why I always carry, people stronger than me have threatened me, but if they ever get to close they will quickly regret it.
1
09:25 Many losers also wrote after wars, especially if they survive.
1
If they want to use a Sub-Saharan African, ¿Why not just use Nubia? There is very little made about Nubia, but instead of telling new stories they just keep re-telling the same stories but with different casts.
1
09:20 This sounds EXACTLY like Bushido, during the age of warfare nobody cared about some code because actual martial strategies were more important, but during the time of peace a more romanticised image of the past was created.
1
There are unfortunately hackers that all they do is delete old videos for no particular reason. I've seen it several times already.
1
15:28 Well, actually monopolised crime reduces violence, Western Sicily which has very little Mafia influence is much more violent than the Mafia-dominated East Sicily. Organised crime monopolises crime and mafia bosses don't want the police so they want as little violence as possible because violence puts them on the public radar.

Occam's Razor doesn't say that the most simple hypothesis is correct, it says that the least assumptive hypothesis is most likely correct. These are very different interpretations and less assumptive simply means the ones that doesn't rely as much on unproven claims as the less likely claims.
1
@generationkilled Yeah, but the bronze age happened first.
1
00:12 This isn't "gender equality", this is female supremacy. They basically claim that women were better than men, yet nobody ever calls out female supremacism, it has basically taken over pop science since the late 1980's (and has been found in academia since the 1960's). I am not surprised to see it in history now.

Catholic Church: "We're announcing a crusade to the north." Crusaders: "¿So we're finally attacking the Norsemen?" Catholic Church: "Nope, we'll conquer the Baltic tribes." Actually happened, they had a Crusade against the Baltic peoples and the Teutonic Order annexed the entire region.
1
11:11 I wouldn't call Black Kim Il-Sung "a hero".
1
Wait... ¿Gawker still exists?
1
I saw the live action film, quite a good one. The actors playing Romans are mostly Italian... Except for the protagonist and the Emperor. The protagonist is a vaguely Italian-looking Japanese man, but the Emperor looks fully Asian, unmistakably so.
1
01:38 I don't think that "Yt" means "YouTube"...
1
03:00 Wrong, Flammküche is native French pizza, they just don't call it "pizza".
1
S.W.A.T. is a good example of a police force in full armour, even with covered helmets.
1
00:35 Feudal Japan actually didn't exist, the Japanese system wasn't quite feudalism and modern historians if this period do not call it "feudal" anymore.
1
I had some Chicago pizza in Hanoi and while my wife hates it, it's among the best pizza I've ever had. No idea why New Yorkers are so arrogant about their pizza's.
1
18:20 "Sangleys" are the Chinese, to contrast them with "Indians" (Non-Chinese Asian-Filipino's).
1
I often hear how the YouTube comment sections are "toxic" but I rarely ever see them be toxic, this is actually an example of a toxic comment section.
1
European Knights and Japanese Samurai primarily used spears and bows and arrows, most pre-modern military forces were spear-based.

I saw the title of this video and how dumb it was and I immediately knew that it was Cracked. Cracked is a click-bait website, almost everything they claim is false but written in a way that someone with no knowledge of the topic might believe it. I remember reading it in my youth and then spending years finding out that basically every little thing I "learned" from Cracked turned out to be false.

07:30 In Vietnamese historiography the Medieval period ends in 1945. This means that I actually met people born in the Middle Ages. 😂

This is also a generational difference and to some extent social exposure, as a Millennial I grew up watching television where almost every female was depicted as stronger than (almost) every male, the "politically correct" science journals (not actually science, but "pop science") from our youth bombarded us with the superiority of females compared to men constantly, often through misinterpretation of the sources they cite. As a result many of our generation, especially those that didn't have many friends, basically grew up believing that females are superior in every way. We grew up hearing "girls are smarter", "girls are stronger", and "girls can make a change" but nobody ever gave boys compliments unless you're from a few families that did (I only met those much later in life). This generational gap was very clear when talking to older generations, they grew up with different messages so hearing how we were taught sounds like fantasy but they still feel that they need to "compensate for past misogyny" so will continue pushing a lot of this messaging.

England went from Norseman to Norman, what a change...

I would say that one can take more liberties with mythologies, although it shouldn't be one-sided. I wouldn't mind a White person playing an African god(dess).
1
00:15 Let people comment first, more engagement, dude.
1
04:15 Literally all of human history, anywhere. Even contemporary Stone Age African tribes wear colourful clothing.
1
04:54 Which is ironic considering that U.S. Americans commonly say "Black people are the most homogenous race". It's insulting really. This is what "progressives" tend to say.
1
08:55 Bushi actually means "Military scholar" with Bu meaning military and Shi meaning scholar.
1
You should have mentioned the differences between the short-haired Celts and long-haired Celts. Greek colonists were active in southern Celtica for centuries before the Roman Republic was even a thing, and many Celtic tribes adopted Greek culture and the Romans considered these tribes to be easy to integrate into the Republic because they already had the same culture, style of government, Etc.
1
Hitler is only considered to be "right-wing" because all the journalists at the time when he was alive were Stalinists, these same journalists referred to the S.D.P. as "social fascists" as didn't differentiate between the S.D.P. and N.S.D.A.P., to them anyone other than the K.P.D. were evil and the only reason they used "fascist" as an insult was because they hated the Italian Revolution and were still salty about it not being a Socialist revolution.
1
10:00 Apparently North-Eastern Mediterranean and South-Eastern Mediterranean people look extremely different...
1
I've seen lots of scams on Facebook, but rarely on eBay. I think it's because eBay actually takes action.
1
For many decades mainstream news have been telling us that women and girls are physically stronger than men.
1
I imagine that gold coins are a bit like € 500,- banknotes, most people I know have never seen them in their lives, some have seen € 200,- but the 500 quid is so care that people can recall the time they saw one better than the first time they've made love.
1
23:00 Didn't expect him in Jewish clothes, probably shouldn't use this as a podcast.
1
Latin language = Hidden language, no wonder everyone thinks it's dead, it's because nobody can find the Latins.
1
12:00 Ariana Grande is significantly darker than a lot of "Black" people I know and she's 100% Italian, so it doesn't JUST refer to skin colour.
1
11:35 That sounds EXACTLY like M.M.A.
1
It's because the people in charge are Baby Boomers who didn't grow up with absurdist television and didn't see people actually believing that every female historical figure was a Kung Fu expert or that every historical European man was a comic book villain.
1
02:17 And Scania.
1
Disliked, oké, now let's watch. (a joke, obviously)
1
06:05 That's a useless definition because that applies to literally no group of people, ever.
1
Please continue debunking Cracked, maybe someone watches your channel and also likes Cracked but never bothered questioning the "facts" they learned there.
1
14:00 Karate is as Japanese as Hawai'ian things are U.S. American, Karate was created by the Ryūkyūans and originally meant "Way of the Chinese Hand" named after Chinese people, the dominant class of Ryūkyūan society.
