  1. 05:10 When a Filipino sees a foreigner, they basically just assume that the foreigner will leave, so if they ask to "borrow money" they essentially mean that they can keep it and never pay you back. I've seen Indians and Chinese lend out money in the Philippines, they will be at your house every day, other foreigners will get scammed. In fact, be especially weary of people who say "I will pay you back" if you give them money as a gift. Because these people intend to scam you and just instinctually say "I'll pay you back" because they are pathological liars when it concerns money. I know, because when I wanted to GIVE my uncle money he kept saying that he'll pay me back even though I didn't want it to be a loan.

Yes, I was talking to a Filipino to acknowledge her kid to get free government money from a European government, I know that the documents cost 2000 Pesos lang, I still sent 14K Pesos so she can share extra with her family "this is not enough, I need more", no, you don't, a single P.S.A. document is less than 300 Pesos lang, I know prices, but she pretends like it's 20K.

  4. For some, they want to stay with or close to their family. For others, being abroad has opportunities. The last woman I dated before my current girlfriend never left the Philippines and didn't want to go for anything more than a vacation. As I was a few years younger than her and at the time still in my 20's I wasn't exactly planning on retiring in the Philippines, but we both wanted to have kids, I now have a girlfriend that moved to my country because he hates being in the Philippines. Sometimes, it's simply about compatibility.
