  2. 14:30 if you notice actual disadvantages with a place, it is wise to try to change the culture. Keep pointing out how they can improve. Here in Europe we constantly have U.S. Americans and Syrians and Lebanese and Indians telling us how to improve and we do because we value foreign investment. "We're already perfect, you change" is guaranteed to keep yourself poor, unless you have something everyone wants (like China or those U.S.A.).

  3. 08:25 The Philippines is extremely similar to Latin America in this regard, I've lived with my Cuban grand-father in a Latin America country as a teenager and it's ridiculously slow. When I went to the Philippines I was surprised how much more similar it was to Latin America than it is to countries like China and Viet-Nam where people have 0 tolerance for anyone or anything being late.

While the food in Manila is amazing and cheap, the food in most of the Philippines is unbearable, I've never felt disgusted to eat until I tried local empanadas or pork stews, Etc. the food in most of the Philippines is really bad. Food is restaurants is amazing, even when you go into rural areas, but most (not all) street food is something that's less appetising than when it comes out of you.
