He should've said that the men who want a relationship with her are the men she doesn't want a relationship with and the men who she desires to be in a relationship with don't want to be in a relationship with her. Meaning that she's only single "by choice" because she chooses not be in a relationship with men she already doesn't want. It's like if you have $ 10.000,- and while there are good cars for $ 8.000,- the car you want is worth $ 100.000,- so you can say "I don't drive anything by choice, I can afford cars", yeah, but you can't afford the car that you actually want to drive.
