I don't like Libertarians (or "Liberals" as they are called in Europe), but they are necessary for pointing out the bad things governments do, because the alternatives always defend bad behaviour because they know that "their team" is also doing it, which is when a Liberal (read "Libertarian" for U.S. Americans) minister broke the rules in the Netherlands he was also fined, because his party refused to defend his actions.
