  1. Interesting how West Germany had so many anti-nuclear protestors, it's almost as if an unholy union between the automotive industry and pro-Soviet groups sabotaged the German nuclear mission. West Germany was right on the border with Eastern Europe (in fact the West German city of West Berlin was conpletely surrounded by an Eastern European Soviet satellite), and West Germany also had the most pro-Soviet politicians and institutions of any Western European country, only neutral countries like Sweden and Switzerland had more pro-Soviet groups within them. West Germany was also strongly dependent on the oil industry as they had one of the largest automotive industries in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if parallel conspiracies by both Big Oil and the Soviet Union caused West German students to "spontaneously" become anti-nuclear.
