  1. The United States essentially DID annex a lot of the land we have today..from Spain/France/England who in turn annexed it from the natives who lived there before them. All land around the world has been conquered countless times over for a few hundred thousand years since people began walking on two legs. What Russia is doing is wrong, and Ukraine has every right to defend themselves and their borders. I met a Russian who served in the Russian military and after he got out moved his wife and children to Canada and became citizens there. He told me something funny on a canoe trip in Northern Canada a few years ago. We were talking about the United States and Russias military and doctrins they each follow. He told me "America bomb, take bomb, take, bomb take,...Russia JUST TAKE !" It really struck me as true, and he got a real kick out of telling me thid. He told me a lot of other things about how things are in Russia dealing with local officials and police etc..and the bribe system that exists in almost every aspect of daily life.
