I can completely understand how this could happen. The little girl matched the description of the suspect to a T, I get that. But once the cops realize that they were WRONG, they need to admit their mistake. At least there was actually a suspect that matched because police are known to make up stories about phantom suspects that look EXACTLY like the people they want to harass. I really don't think the police were iut here looking to victimize anyone, but at the end of the day they got the wrong person. Granted, the police were "nice" to the little girl and didn't rough her up, but the statement from the Lt./Captain was just ridiculous.
