Leopard and Abrams tanks ( like Russian ) are 1970 to 1990 technologies, they are very old , before micro drones could target their weak spots and engines exhaust from behind and sides and make them useless, not to mention their entourage: Heavy trucks loaded with Fuel every 300 km, other trucks loaded with Munitions, other trucks with parts , mechanics, crew and Radar / Radio systems , all of which must get together every few hours to refuel and re-arm , when the drones above tell their rockets , missiles and drones to attack .But they represent big Contracts , big Fees and Commissions and big Political Campaign Donations, so they are very popular in Washington DC and Brussels. For the Soldiers inside and the rest of the Taxpayers, they are just very expensive Cannon Fodder. And the revelations of Ch. Merkel about the Minsk Agreements make the whole thing a Criminal Scam, in my opinion.
