Right now all the Chemicals to make Plastics, Composites, Clothing , Home Construction and Appliances , Steel , Aluminum, Chips, Computers and Medicines , all the Chemicals needed to make them come from Oil, Gas , Coal, Ammonia, etc. We don't know how to get them from any other sources , how can we talk about cutting Oil & Gas while providing for 8 billion Humans?
