Brit colonized Hong Kong and Singapore too, not just India. But Singapore and Hong koñg made the colonization an advantage and turned out to be rich

@jakel2837 Singapore's success was totally not because of the Brits, it was because of Lee Kwang Yew's strategic leadership. Hong Kong was not built by the Brits either. Singapore was very poor when it first become independent..Lee Kwang Yew was even crying because of the difficulty of Singapore, it lacks any resources including fresh water. what about Taiwan? Taiwan , Korea were also colony of Japan. admit it , East Asian people are quite smart and strategic, Confucianism did help Asian countries to be wealthy. The only short coming of East Asia is like China is dictatorship and communism, if China is not dictatorship, China would have a lot more creativity and potential, in high tech industries. Nvidia and AMD CEOs are both chinese , youtube was created by Chinese American. How hard is it to accept that East Asians are just good at strategy and business and technology.

@LollipopLop Japan was damaging singapore not helping. And Tang, Song, Ming dysnasty was the origin of East Asian culture, Japan was a barbaric country until China brought Han cultural to japan. You are giving way too much credits to Japan. Plus they are the Nazi Invader.

@LollipopLop Why is first language of singapore not include Japanese, but only Chinese, English, Malay and Hindi? Do you know the Japanese characters are basically Chinese characters? Kanji is completely borrowed from China, and hiragana and katagana are just simplified forms of Chinese charactors. Their Tea traditions and architecture buildings were from Tang and Song Dynasty of China, 80percent similarity. And Japanese are also East Asians. East Asians are just quite smart.

@LollipopLop what about the world's highest standard chip making company, TSMC, it is in Taiwan (The republic of China), so by ethnicity Taiwanese are Chinese. Is TSMC started by Japan or America or Brits?

@LollipopLop Do you prefer to be slaughtered by Nazi Japanese invader? Than being colonized as workers under Brits? The harm Japan done to Singapore but much worse than the harm the Brits done to India. At least Indians were not killed by the Brits. India shall be very very grateful that the Brits brought much innovation to India.

@LollipopLop Be thankful the Brits didnt kill many Indians, the Nazi Japanese would not be so gentle to their colonies. Korea, China and Singapore were all violently treated. You are denying the much worse harm done to the victims during WWII, that is not acceptable at all. For God's sake, that is basically saying Nazi Germany helped the Jews to be successful, singaporeans were killed by the Japanese, like the Jews were killed by Nazi Germans. You are not being ethnical or human!

@jakel2837 all of a sudden, being tiny and lack of resources becomes an advantage? Strategic people turn the short coming into advantages, complainers just complain about everything. Why did they get the investment on the first place, the wall street investers are not stupid, they invest for a reason? Why not Africa? why not malaysia, why not indonasia or murmar? Why Singapore and Hong kong?
