As a Chinese I want peace for taiwan too...most chinese people do ...and i respect anything taiwanese want to do.... but tbh i dont think USA care for taiwan at all other than wanting to use it as military base and strategic spot in east asia...the care is hypocritical..three years ago i ask Americans about taiwan, they ask me if it is the same as Thailand..they don't even know Taiwan exists, three years later they suddenly love taiwan to the core...as Chinese, my grandparents generation was seperated and his brother moved to taiwan, most taiwanese family are the same their grand parents are from China...politicians do not but i think Chinese people care for Taiwanese people much more than any Westerners..
