  6. Simple/short answer: because that People's Republic is a above all else a firmly Socialist country (something many people seems to forget nowadays...) lead by a Communist Party.

  7. That's right, forms of Communism were first conceptualized in Ancient China! (see Nongjia among other Chinese primitive communist schools...) But Marxism also goes far beyond what "ancient Chinese scholars thinkers" theorized for a "harmonious, fair and just" society... Marxist Communism is about equality not just fairness, its ultimate goal is a classless, stateless society with no private property. A society where all the means of production are collectively owned by everyone and where weatlth is created "from each according to its abilities", and then evenly distributed "to each according to its needs". Plus Marxist Communism is by essence internationalist and wants the end of nations and countries to unite all mankind. In that sense, one could say Marxism is kinda more technically specific and adapted to modern setting! ^^

  17. No, Communism IS Democracy! Communism is better than CAPITALISM! But as the previous comment rightly said, China has not yet achieved Communism. It's still in the "initial stage of Socialism with Chinese characteristics" (aka a form of State Capitalism/Market Socialism with Chinese characteristics) according to the orthodox Marxist-Leninist doctrine adapted to the current Chinese material conditions.
