When IKEA refused to close down in Russia, I yelled at them on Twitter. A couple of days later they decided to close in both Russia and Belarus. Most likely not because of just me. But complaining to companies does help, if enough people do it.

@gregorymalchuk272 Shutting down foreign businesses can alert the Russian people to the fact that something is very wrong with the war. The Russian population is either not getting the information about what is going on, or are denying the facts. There are reports that Russian parents don't believe their children in Ukraine that they are being bombed. If foreign stores close, there is a chance that the message is getting through.

@sweis12 Yes, there is a hope that sanctions and store closures will prompt Russians to take action.
