Thanks for talking about Framework. It sure looks promising. I'm the opposite, I can only use trackpads. Those "nipples" just look weird to me. :)

Enforcement of the vaccines is likely to come to more and more countries. It's happening in Austria now in February. It will probably spread to other countries. Punishment in Austria will apparently be fines. So poor people will be even poorer from the fines. Whereas rich people can just pay the fine, and it doesn't affect them.

Suggestion: Sara Dietschy for Right to Repair (769K subs). I wanted to suggest iJustine for Right to Repair, since so few women are being contacted to take part. Then I realized that iJustine probably doesn't want to bite the hand that feeds her. :s But maybe you can try iJustine too.

 @tweetyericsson I think you are missing the point there.

I'm just speculating here, so I could be wrong. For something as small as a laptop, I doubt it's possible. I have read that some large electrical appliances can have schematics behind for example a panel. If we're talking physical schematics inside the laptop, where would they fit? There are air vents everywhere (or at least should be, if you don't want an overheating laptop).

Thanks for the tip.

I don't understand how they can't get the heating to work. In Europe, car manufacturers have been testing their cars in Lapland for decades. Why can't Tesla do it? I feel so bad for the people that bought a Tesla.

So what is a high steak? Is it a buffalo steak, that's high up on the buffalo's butt? Since cows are closer to the ground than buffaloes? 🤔 😄 (I'm joking)

First thought: these people have cats, and the cats break the screens somehow, when the owners are not watching.

Good point.

 @ezflower-s7i Yup, true.

On the one hand, this is hilarious. On the other hand, I feel so sorry for anyone that owns a John Deere machine.

Getting scammed by a computer repair shop is how I started learning about fixing computers. I realised that in order to not get scammed, I needed to learn how to fix computer issues myself.

Same. My new b/w laser printer is a Brother. I hope I didn't make a bad choice, and it doesn't arbitrarily stops working.

So whoever made the decision to destroy the gardens doesn't even know the basics about how rats live? Sadly I'm not surprised.

Other people have already said everything I feel about ads. I will just add that I am looking for alternatives to Youtube. Apparently someone in Europe has sued Youtube for blocking ads, since it is against EU law. I hope YT/Google loses that lawsuit.

And this is why I went with laser in my last printer purchase a few months ago. (Brand: Brother). It's been running fine, touch wood. I had to give up colour though, couldn't find a decent colour laser printer.

This makes me happy that I live in the EU. At least some of our politicians are not toothless or bought by corporations. I hope we sue the sh*t out of Google/Youtube.

There is too much violence in my area. It is not safe to exercise outside of the home. No, unfortunately I can't move right now, I'm stuck where I am. Luckily I don't have a Peloton though.

I had a Lexmark printer that stopped working after I put in aftermarket ink. Needless to say I will never buy Lexmark again (nor Canon, when they do the same thing). I just bought a new printer. It's a Brother, because I have read that Brother doesn't do sh*t like that. We'll see what happens the first time I run out of ink. Fingers crossed. Info like whether the printer stops working isn't always available in reviews. I check all the reviews that I can find, but the info isn't always there.

Oh, and the new Brother printer I bought is a b/w laser printer. I will miss not having colour. But I need something that works.
1
Same, I had a Lexmark from around that time that stopped working because I changed ink. I will never buy Lexmark again.

Sounds like that security guard was just looking to shoot somebody, and used Covid as an excuse. He probably would have come up with another excuse to shoot somebody if Covid wasn't around. But yeah, it raises the question as to what both authorities and civilians should be legally allowed to do.

 @tissuepaper9962 Well said.

Thanks for the warning. I will not buy a Ring then.

 @YounesLayachi Yes true, I don't think I have tried one.

Ublock Origin works fine for me.
