Trump and his MAGA cult feed off of each other and need each other, that's why the bond is so great, regardless of his abuse and the cult's self-destructive nature. MAGAs are people who have justifiably been ignored their entire lives for being weird or bigoted or just plain ignorant. Many are also poor. For once in their life, elitists care what they have to say, even if it is garbage. It makes the un-special feel very special.
