  2. American pop culture such as Second City has been dissing Canada for many decades. Famous Canadians like William Shatner are routinely made fun of here. Mort Zuckerman left Canada to pursue his fortune in NYC real estate. I just find it odd because gun deaths, terrorism and other ills seem rare in Canada and the government (for the moment at least) seems far more stable than in the U.S. I visited Montreal many years ago and I was impressed with its cleanliness compared to many American cities at the time. However, I wouldn't live there due to the cold weather, although I hear Vancouver doesn't get that cold.
