  1. growing up in a Baptist church, I would always see people, usually elderly women, fall out in epileptic-like fits and "speak in tongues," like this gibberish here, only more animated. It always frightened me that they were having a mental breakdown and would hurt themselves.

  2.  @clineezwood7942  like all Protestant churches, Baptists run the gamut from extremely conservative to Pentecostal, where speaking in tongues is almost required. They call it "catching the Holy Spirit." I call it psychosomatic suggestion. Clever preachers know how to manipulate emotional responses from the weak-minded or tortured souls.
