I agree with the DNC rules. Summer 2019 is enough time for the 1%ers to prove there is sufficient support for their quixotic candidacy.

@marcperez2598 the 1%ers have until Labor Day to prove they are viable candidates. Sorry but this is a competition, only the strongest should survive, and there is enough diversity among the top 5 candidates to assure a fair selection. Also, we are in an emergency situation against a tyrant who will unleash full-blown fascism in America if he is re-elected.

@marcperez2598 I think donor requirements shouldn't be considered at all. To be realistic, if you don't have anyone financially backing your campaign you are not a viable candidate anyway. Life is unfair sometimes. What I am more concerned about is will the Sanders/Warren wing play ball and unite behind a Biden nomination, should it happen. He is going to need every vote he can get to defeat Trump, assuming he is still President on election day.

@mvick4198 the Biden wing of the party is not nearly as absolutist as the progressives, particularly the Bernie Bros. They are as fanatic as the Ron Paul people were at his height. The so-called "corporate" Dems will fall in line if Biden loses to a progressive, but I don't know if the same will happen if Biden prevails. It didn't happen in 2016. We shall see.

@seanking1775 fairly typical Republicans don't separate children from their parents and make immigrants live like pigs, they don't cut off trade with the rest of the world and let the farmers lose their shirts, they don't back Russia over NATO , they don't insult our allies, they don't suck up to dictators in North Korea, Russia, the Phillippines, Hungary, etc., they don't call the press the enemy of the people, they don't inspire their voters to send pipe bombs to the opposition and shoot innocent people in churches, and they don't turn the Justice Department into Donald Trump's private law firm - until now of course. If you don't see what's happening to America before your eyes, then you are blind and part of the problem.

@mvick4198 there were many reasons why Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump by only 77,000 votes in 3 states. The excuse you use was conveniently invented by Sanders supporters to excuse the fact that a large number of them, because they didn't get their man nominated, decided instead to vote for a monster, Trump, on the theory that he was somehow the lesser of two evils. For that they should be apologizing. Sarah Silverman said it best for all time at the convention: "you're being ridiculous!" Any party insisting on 100% ideological and policy purity - even when the young and non-whites become the majority in a decade or so - or they walk is inviting massive failure. Unless the Sanders voters learn that politics is a game of compromise and timing they will cause their own defeat again in 2020.
